Job Summary
Paraprofessional providing direct support to a designated student during the instructional day, assisting with feeding, toileting, and other needs; collaborating with teachers to create an effective classroom learning environment; delivering individualized instructions and activities to support the student’s comprehension and access to the curriculum; monitoring progress and behavior, and assisting with data collection and reporting to the teacher; also involved in monitoring students on Specialized Transportation and maintaining safe, confidential handling of student information.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience and knowledge of students needs at different ages, educational and developmental levels
- Working knowledge of educational practices, processes, and techniques
- Willingness to become familiar with Pamlico County School Districts educational policies and rules as well as federal and state laws, regulations, policies, and rules
- Skill in communicating verbally, and written, through translation and interpretation
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with others
- Maintain confidential student information
- Participates in CPI certification yearly
