Job Summary

Drive any route necessary in the absence of a permanent or substitute driver and monitor AM and PM runs to ensure bus coverage. Collaborate with the Transportation Planner to notify them of driver absences or tardiness, while training substitute drivers on routes and required documents like TD-25 and TD-28. Conduct bi-weekly fire extinguisher inspections, maintain files for bus routes and seating charts, and submit the TD-28 Bus Maintenance log daily by 9:30 a.m. Inform the Planner of route violations and ensure compliance with TIM-approved routes, while assisting in safety training and bus cleaning. Deliver buses to the Bus Garage for maintenance and perform limited assistance with 30-day inspections.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED
1 year of North Carolina school bus driving experience
Licensed school bus driver
Valid Commercial Driver's License with Passenger and School Bus endorsement in the State of North Carolina
Must be 18 years of age
Register in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Clearinghouse
Physical Standards Test
