Job Summary
Provide academic assistance by delivering group and individualized instruction, correcting student work, and reinforcing achievements. Prepare classroom materials, arrange furnishings, and serve as a proctor during testing while reporting student progress and attendance. Monitor student behavior in classrooms and hallways, resolve conflicts, and maintain health and behavioral records. Operate school buses or act as a bus monitor when required, maintaining all state-mandated driver certifications. Perform physical tasks including lifting and repetitive motions while communicating with parents and staff. This role supports the Four Oaks Elementary School team throughout the 2026-2027 school year.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Hold a 2 or 4 year degree
- Have completed 48 Semester Hours
- Have completed the Pathways to TA Class and completed the accompanying WorkKeys Test
- Working knowledge of effective methods of dealing with children
- Ability to solve minor problems
- Ability to follow detailed written and oral instructions
- Must be able to communicate orally and in writing with parents, staff, and community leaders
- Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of fingering, grasping, kneeling, sitting, walking, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, talking, seeing, hearing, and repetitive motion
- Must maintain appropriate bus driver certification at all times
