Job Summary
Operate special equipment to assist exceptional students with entering and exiting the bus, while monitoring behavior and intervening in conflicts. Seat students in assigned locations and lift them comfortably. Report student concerns to designated authorities and substitute as the driver when necessary. Requires a high school diploma and willingness to obtain a bus driver's license. Ability to learn the bus route and understand individual student needs. Pay Grade 50 with the Rockingham County School System.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate
- Must be willing to obtain a bus driver's license
- Skill in lifting and placing students comfortably
- Skill in accurately operating and adjusting the special equipment
- Ability to learn and remember the bus route
- Ability to understand the individual needs of exceptional students
