Job Summary
Conduct specialized instruction and support for students with disabilities within the general education curriculum at Mary Scroggs Elementary School. Develop and implement data-driven Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), deliver differentiated lesson plans, and manage classroom behavior through individualized behavior plans. Collaborate with general educators, families, and support staff to meet unique learning needs while maintaining accurate documentation of student progress. Direct teacher assistants in supporting students and participate in parent conferences, IEP meetings, and district initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- N.C. teacher certification
- EC General Curriculum License
- B.A/B.S degree in teaching from an accredited institution or related field teaching
- North Carolina State certification in teaching in the appropriate subject area
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Must have the ability and proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis
- Knowledge and implementation of relevant technology
- Meet professional teacher education requirements of school, district and state
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience as an EC general curriculum teacher
