Job Summary
EC Adapted Curriculum Teacher for Grades 6-8 develops lesson plans and delivers group and individual instruction aligned to IEPs, administers and interprets tests, and collects data to document progress toward IEP goals. Collaborates with administration and other educators to create an inclusive education environment, adheres to policies, and follows crisis/emergency procedures. Uses behavioral assessment tools (FBA) and designs Behavioral Intervention Plans to address student behavior, applying data-driven instructional strategies and environmental modifications to support academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development. Maintains accurate records, participates in professional development, and communicates with parents/guardians regarding progress and priorities. Requires Bachelor’s degree, NC teaching license, and 10-month, full-time schedule; Master’s degree in education preferred; valid driver’s license and travel to district buildings may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Master’s degree in education preferred
- Valid NC Teaching license in assigned area required
- Equivalent combination of experience and education
- Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license or ability to provide own transportation
- Travel to school district buildings and professional meetings
