Job Summary
Design mechanical components and the Gearbox/eAxle overall according to technical requirements using Creo for 3D modeling and 2D drawings. Optimize designs for weight, cost, manufacturability, and efficiency while preparing technical documentation including BOMs and DFMEAs. Present design reviews to stakeholders and support root cause analysis by technically analyzing potential failures and concerns for the system. This role requires a Science or Engineering Master's Degree with 3-5+ years in automotive or EV powertrain design, preferably in eAxle or e-drive systems. Candidates must demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities and knowledge of eAxle architecture, lubrication, and sealing systems, with preferred experience in quality tools like 8D and SPC.
Required Qualifications
- Science or Engineering Master Degree
- 3...5+ years in automotive or EV powertrain design, preferably in eAxle or e-drive systems
- Good logic and presentation ability
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Good understanding of the eAxle system and the relative components gearbox, eMotor
- Understanding of eAxle architecture, including e-machines (permanent magnet motors), gear reduction systems, and differentials
- Knowledge of lubrication, and sealing systems
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge about the quality tools (e.g. 8D, SPC, FMEA) and machining process preferred
