Job Summary

Use diagnostic tools to assess reading progress for pupils in grades K to 3 and determine necessary interventions. Assist teachers in implementing a multi-tiered system of support to ensure students reach grade-level reading by the end of third grade. Provide individualized classroom-based support for best practices, administer instructional assessments, and recommend effective intervention strategies. Deliver ongoing professional development on essential instructional practices, differentiated instruction, and progress monitoring. Complete required reports and attend grant-mandated activities including coaching intensives and quarterly meetings. Work a flexible 40-hour week including evenings to meet school, staff, and parent needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Current Michigan teaching certification
  • Minimum of four years of effective teaching
  • Knowledge of current state literacy standards for pupils in grades K-3
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings
  • Demonstrated experience with coordination of large-scale projects/events, report writing, and record keeping systems
  • Ability to be a team leader, plan and manage multiple projects and budgets
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work with diverse groups, facilitate group discussions and teach adult learners
  • Regular on time and in person attendance

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Education
  • Five years of experience training, mentoring and coaching teachers
