Job Summary
Foster a safe, inclusive environment for approximately 20 children while planning and leading age-appropriate activities that support social-emotional learning and whole-child development. Monitor student attendance and participation daily, maintain accurate records, and request program materials to ensure budget adherence. Build positive relationships with students, families, and stakeholders, and collaborate with the Site Coordinator to plan culminating events and off-site field trips. Comply with all safety protocols, emergency procedures, and required trainings, including approximately 15 hours of professional development. Work Monday through Friday from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM as part of a team of 1,500 staff serving over 30,000 youth across Los Angeles, San Bernardino, and Riverside counties.
Required Qualifications
- Availability Monday through Friday, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM
- High School Diploma or GED
- 6 months experience working with supervising a group of early education aged children in a school or recreational setting or 6 units in early education / child development
- Ability to work effectively with children and youth
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer proficiency
- Must successfully pass an assessment evaluating math, reading comprehension, and spelling skills
- Frequent standing during working hours
- Regular use of hands for various tasks, such as operating a computer and handling objects
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
Desired Qualifications
