Job Summary
Plan and lead fun, age-appropriate activities for clubs of approximately 20 children, fostering a safe, inclusive environment that supports whole-child development. Monitor student attendance and participation to ensure consistent engagement, while building positive relationships with students, families, and stakeholders. Collaborate with the Site Coordinator to plan culminating events, request program materials within budget guidelines, and comply with all safety protocols and emergency procedures. Participate in off-site field trips as needed and maintain accurate daily attendance records. Complete required professional development totaling approximately 15 hours across spring and intersession days.
Required Qualifications
- Availability Monday through Friday, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
- High School Diploma or GED
- 6 months experience working with supervising a group of early education aged children in a school or recreational setting or 6 units in early education / child development.
- Ability to work effectively with children and youth.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency and a willingness to learn new technologies and systems.
- Must successfully pass an assessment evaluating math, reading comprehension, and spelling skills.
- Frequent standing is required during working hours
- Regular use of hands for various tasks, such as operating a computer and handling objects
- Frequently required to talk, hear, and reach with hands and arms
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in expanded learning programs, after-school programs, or youth recreation settings
- Associate's Degree in Child Development or a related field
