Job Summary
Foster a safe, inclusive environment for up to 20 children while planning age-appropriate activities that support social-emotional learning and whole-child development. Monitor student attendance and participation, maintain daily records, and request program materials to adhere to budget guidelines. Build positive relationships with families, colleagues, and stakeholders, and collaborate on culminating events and field trips. Comply with all safety protocols, emergency procedures, and required certifications while attending professional development sessions totaling approximately 15 hours annually.
Required Qualifications
- Availability Monday through Friday, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM
- High School Diploma or GED
- 6 months experience working with supervising a group of early education aged children in a school or recreational setting or 6 units in early education / child development
- Ability to work effectively with children and youth
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer proficiency
- Must successfully pass an assessment evaluating math, reading comprehension, and spelling skills
- Frequent standing is required during working hours
- Regular use of hands for various tasks, such as operating a computer and handling objects
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in expanded learning programs, after-school programs, or youth recreation settings
