Job Summary
Supervise students individually or in group settings while consistently monitoring their learning, behaviors, and needs for health, toileting, and self-help skills. Work under the direction of professional staff and attend district workshops to continue learning about Early Childhood Education. Perform essential duties including standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in various indoor and outdoor classroom areas. Requires a current CDA credential, 12 credit hours in early childhood education, and pediatric first aid and CPR certification.
Required Qualifications
- Must have at least 12 credit hours in early childhood education
- a current CDA credential
- two years post secondary education or Paraeducator certificate
- Required to obtain pediatric first aid and CPR
- Willingness to assume responsibility
- Ability to work well with others
- Flexibility in working with classroom teachers
- Ability to work independently
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Enjoy working with preschool age children
- Ability to effectively supervise students while maintaining a positive relationship with them
