Job Summary
The Early Learning Special Education Aide supports students with disabilities in early learning classrooms by assisting in implementing IEP goals and embedded instructional supports. Responsibilities include providing instructional and small-group support to reinforce academic readiness, communication, social interaction, and adaptive skills; maintaining structured, visually supported learning environments; applying behavior strategies consistently; collecting and documenting student performance data; assisting with transitions and daily routines; supporting inclusion in general education and related arts settings; supervising students and assisting with materials, equipment, and classroom operations. The role requires working with a certified teacher, willingness to perform duties related to feeding, diapering, mobility, and other essential student-care tasks as needed; training in the 40-Hour Registered Behavior Technician coursework and adherence to confidentiality and professional standards. Regular responsibilities occur within classroom settings, playgrounds, and other school environments; the position is full-time (181 days, 7.5 hours/day) with pay aligned to Level 110 on the district pay scale.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma required. Must meet Highly Qualified standards as defined by federal and state guidelines, including one of the following: Associate’s Degree; 60 hours of college credit from an accredited institution; Passing score on the ParaPro Assessment
