Job Summary

Supervise students individually or in group settings while monitoring their learning, behaviors, and needs including health, toileting, and self-help skills. Provide direct support under the direction of professional staff and attend district workshops to continue learning about Early Childhood Education. Perform essential duties requiring frequent standing, walking, squatting, and lifting up to 50 pounds while working in indoor and outdoor classroom areas. Work Monday through Thursday for 7.5 hours per day, starting ASAP.

Required Qualifications

  • Must have at least 12 credit hours in early childhood education
  • current CDA credential
  • two years post secondary education
  • Paraeducator certificate
  • pediatric first aid and CPR
  • Willingness to assume responsibility
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Flexibility in working with classroom teachers
  • Ability to work independently
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Enjoy working with preschool age children
  • Ability to effectively supervise students while maintaining a positive relationship with them
  • Must be able to stand
  • Must be able to walk
  • Must be able to use hands and fingers to handle and/or feel objects, tools or controls
  • Must be able to talk and hear
  • Must be able to squat
  • Must be able to stoop
  • Must be able to kneel
  • Must be able to reach above the head
  • Must be able to reach forward 0 to 24 inches
  • Must be able to reach on occasion up to 36 inches
  • Must be able to use hand strength to grasp items
  • Must be able to bend or twist at the neck and trunk more than the average person
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds 0 to 12 feet
  • Must be able to lift and/or move occasionally up to 20 feet
  • Must be able to push/pull items such as tables and carts
  • Must have close vision
  • Must have color vision
  • Must have the ability to adjust focus

  • Attend district workshops and trainings in order to continue learning about Early Childhood Education
