Job Summary
Supervise students individually or in group settings while monitoring their learning, behaviors, and specific needs including health, toileting, and self-help skills. Work under the direction of professional staff and attend district workshops to continue learning about Early Childhood Education. Perform essential duties by frequently standing, walking, squatting, and lifting up to 50 pounds while maintaining a positive relationship with preschool-age children. Work three hours per day, four days a week, starting ASAP.
Required Qualifications
- Must have at least 12 credit hours in early childhood education
- a current CDA credential
- two years post secondary education or Paraeducator certificate
- Required to obtain pediatric first aid and CPR
- Willingness to assume responsibility
- Flexibility in working with classroom teachers
- Ability to work independently
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Enjoy working with preschool age children
- Ability to effectively supervise students while maintaining a positive relationship with them
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand
- The employee frequently must squat, stoop or kneel
- The employee will frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds 0 to 12 feet and occasionally up to 20 feet
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus
