Job Summary
Assist classroom teachers and center leadership with daily activities, routines, and curriculum implementation to foster children's social, emotional, and cognitive development. Provide positive guidance, maintain a safe and clean learning environment, and monitor classrooms and playgrounds to ensure health and safety. Support family interactions, communicate relevant information through supervisory channels, and maintain confidentiality regarding children and program operations. Assist with attendance tracking, meal counts, behavior logs, and injury reports while organizing learning materials. This role requires lifting up to 40 pounds, frequent transitions between standing and floor work, and active supervision throughout all seasons. Candidates must be at least 16 years old, meet childcare licensing requirements, and hold current Infant/Child CPR and First Aid certifications.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Must have completed or be currently enrolled in high school or an equivalent program
- Must meet all applicable childcare requirements established by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) or the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS)
- Must demonstrate an understanding of child growth and development
- Must be able to apply knowledge of child growth and development when working with children
- Must maintain current Infant/Child CPR and First Aid certifications
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds
- Must be able to lift, bend, twist, reach, and move throughout the day as needed
- Must be able to react quickly and appropriately to the unpredictable actions and needs of children
- Must be able to actively supervise children and participate in program activities throughout the day
