Job Summary
Early Learning Coach provides culturally relevant coaching and support to licensed childcare providers across eight counties in Central Washington, delivering on-site and/or virtual coaching, professional development, and coaching services to support quality improvement and the Washington State Early Achievers system. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining schedules for on-site and/or virtual visits, assisting providers in reaching milestones, managing a caseload, participating in trainings, documenting work in required databases within five days, and representing Catholic Charities in the community. The role requires MERIT/STARS trainer approval or ability to obtain, and adherence to state laws including mandatory reporting of child abuse and neglect. The position demands strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and the ability to work evenings and weekends as needed, with a valid WA driver’s license and background clearances.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or related field required
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field and 2 years related work experience preferred
- 2 years’ experience working with young children in a group setting required
- State Approved MERIT/STARS trainer or ability to apply
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish preferred
- Ability to work independently and self-motivate; work is primarily off-site
- Be available to work evenings and weekends as needed and requested by your supervisor
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Ability to create and maintain timely documentation/data entry into electronic data systems
- Strong ability to communicate both written and verbal, which includes active listening.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, cultural relevancy, and inclusion.
- Strong customer service and teamwork skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Word and Excel
- Maintain confidentiality according to professional standards
- Valid Washington State driver’s license and agency minimum required liability insurance
- Department of Early Learning background check, Washington State Patrol clearance and fingerprinting when appropriate, as well as any vaccination requirements
- Employment is conditional upon: Being cleared by criminal background check and fingerprinting when required
