Job Summary
Support the Early Learning Program Director in daily operations, classroom supervision, and regulatory compliance with ECECD licensing, CACFP, and YMCA policies. Coach, mentor, and evaluate staff while monitoring curriculum implementation using Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies GOLD. Oversee Brightwheel documentation, maintain staffing ratios, and manage budgeting, purchasing, and inventory. Promote child safety through risk management and emergency preparedness protocols. Assist with enrollment, family communication, and retention while coordinating monthly family engagement events. Serve as Acting Early Learning Program Director during the Director's absence. Bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in early childhood education or related field
- CDC with progress toward Associates
- New Mexico Early Childhood Education & Care Department (ECECD) Assistant Director licensing requirements
- Current CPR/First Aid certification
- Minimum two years of early childhood experience
- One year of leadership experience
- Knowledge of Brightwheel
- Knowledge of Teaching Strategies GOLD
- Knowledge of Creative Curriculum
- Knowledge of CACFP
- Knowledge of the State of New Mexico licensing regulations
- Strong organizational skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to exercise sound judgment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Proficiency with Google Workspace
- Proficiency with database management systems
- Ability to build positive working relationships with families, staff, community partners, and government agencies
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
