Job Summary
Collaborate with Early Learning and Family Engagement teams to promote equitable access to services and opportunities for families in Central Washington. Facilitate Play & Learn groups with fidelity at identified sites, recruit families for early learning programs, and plan family nights. Contribute to assigned preschool classrooms and team projects while maintaining accurate documentation of all activities. Represent Catholic Charities Serving Central Washington in the community as directed. This role requires an Associate degree in psychology, early childhood education, social services, or related field, plus two years of experience working with parents and young children. Candidates must possess excellent communication skills in English and Spanish, knowledge of child development, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. First Aid/CPR certification, a Food Handlers Card, and 30-hour Child Care Basic training are required. The position involves working Tuesday through Friday from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm, with availability for evenings and weekends as requested.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in psychology, early childhood education, social services, or related field
- 2 years' experience working with parents and young children
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish
- Ability to work independently and self-motivate, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively
- Access to reliable transportation
- Knowledge of child development
- First Aid/CPR certification
- Food Handlers Card
- 30-hour Child Care Basic training
- Portable Background Check and professional profile in MERIT
- Valid Washington State driver's license and minimum required liability insurance for WA State
- Must be deemed insurable as determined by Catholic Charities' liability insurance provider
- Being cleared by criminal background check and fingerprinting when required
- Be available to work evenings and weekends as requested
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- With associate degree, 5 years' experience working with parents and young children
- Demonstrated reflective practice skills with the ability to give and receive feedback
- Value all people, their family culture, heritage, language and beliefs
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel
- Knowledge of community resources
