Job Summary
Evaluate patients and clients to develop plans of care with quantifiable speech and language outcome targets. Administer standardized tests for communication disorder diagnosis and provide treatment, instruction, and services per state scope of practice. Update patient progress and provide notes to appropriate parties using research-based methods. Maintain HIPAA compliance and reimbursement requirements while building a caseload of children from birth to three years in the Chicagoland area. Deliver in-home or virtual services with flexible evening and weekend hours. Requires active Illinois licensure, DHS-IL Early Intervention credentialing, and a valid driver's license for travel.
Required Qualifications
- Pediatric experience
- Speech-Language Pathologist state licensure and certification (or eligibility as a CF) in good standing
- Eligibility for DHS-IL Early Intervention credentialing and ISBE Educator Licensure
- Exhibit compliance with The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations, reimbursement requirements, and SLP's responsibilities
- Evaluate patients/clients; develop a plan of care with associated goals including quantifiable speech and language outcome targets
- Administer and interpret standardized tests for diagnosis of communication disorders
- Provide diagnosis, treatment, instruction, and other speech and language services according to the scope of practice limitations per State statute
- Update patient progress and provide progress notes to appropriate parties
- Utilize research-based treatment methods
- Light Work: Exerting up to twenty (20) pounds of force occasionally, up to ten (10) pounds of force frequently, or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects
- Master's Degree from an ASHA-accredited program
- Active State of Illinois Speech-Language Pathology license (required)
- Must possess a valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and access to a vehicle to travel in the Chicago metropolitan area (required)
Desired Qualifications
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (Preferred)
- EI credentials (preferred)
- 1+ years of postgraduate pediatric experience (preferred)
