Job Summary

Coach school teams in implementing schoolwide and tiered positive behavior supports while developing and delivering professional learning on classroom management and cultural competency. Support the implementation of Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) by collaborating with MTSS teams, teachers, and administrators to identify students needing intervention. Collect and analyze behavioral data to inform plans and evaluate results, ensuring proactive and equitable support for student needs. Model and observe positive classroom management techniques directly in the classroom. This role serves as a year-round behavioral support leader at Tulsa Public Schools, focusing on strengthening district capacity in behavior intervention.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in social work, psychology, child development, special education, or a closely related field
  • Three (3) years' work experience in education, social work, or mental health
  • Hold a valid Oklahoma Teacher's Certification
  • Sound knowledge of child development and behavior modification
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness and ability to effectively collaborate with teachers, leaders, parents, students, and district personnel
  • Expertise in working with teams and individuals to develop and implement schoolwide and individual positive behavior support plans
  • Ability to communicate with at-risk students
  • Ability to de-escalate heightened student behavior and emotions
  • Open to change and applies critical thinking while developing solutions based on new guidelines, methods, techniques, and technologies
  • Ability to manage both up and down and create buy-in from individuals with diverse perspectives and backgrounds for new ideas and approaches
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Office Suite

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in social work, psychology, child development, special education, or a closely related field
  • Hold a valid Oklahoma Teacher's Certification and maintain it throughout employment preferred
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus
