Job Summary
Provide teaching and training as Early Intervention Assistant in Richmond Public Schools for grades K-2; conduct early intervention eligibility screening and implement academic interventions in reading and/or math using research-based methodologies. Responsibilities include administering informal/formal assessments, differentiating instruction based on assessment data, maintaining accurate records, communicating student progress to teachers and parents, and participating in team reviews. Requires an Associate’s degree or 60 college credits (or demonstration of reading/writing/mathematics instructional ability via ParaPro), with bilingual Spanish preferred. Position is typically 216 days with a seven-hour workday; EOE; pay scale referenced as 34606-53221 per year.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or completion of 60 hours of college credit from an accredited college or university recognized by the Virginia Department of Education, or demonstrated knowledge of and the ability to assist in reading, writing, and mathematics instruction by achieving a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment.
