Job Summary
Early Head Start Teacher leads developmentally appropriate Infant/Toddler programming, creating a safe, nurturing classroom environment, coordinating routines and transitions, conducting observations and documenting individualized goals, ensuring family services coordination, and supervising classroom staff and substitutes to deliver a quality program aligned with Performance Standards and agency policies. The role emphasizes language and numeracy skill development, school readiness goals, transition planning for children and families, and ongoing professional development while maintaining strong communication with families and colleagues in Lewiston/Auburn, ME.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of Child Development Credential (CDA) required
- Associate Degree or Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education preferred
- Will consider CDA with 3 years experience as an Early Head Start Teacher
- Proficient with use of computer (Microsoft Office & Word)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Must have reliable means of transportation
- Flexibility in scheduling and willingness to help in different locations when and where needed as part of a team
