Job Summary
The Early Head Start Teacher is responsible for providing responsive care and effective teaching in an organized learning environment that promotes health development and children's skill growth for infants and toddlers ages 0-36 months. Key duties include establishing daily routines, promoting relational learning with individualized activities, integrating physical activity, maintaining communication with parents, assessing developmental outcomes, implementing Creative Curriculum, and ensuring safe and engaging classroom environments. The position requires a minimum of a CDA credential and completion of 45 DCF hours, with strong communication skills and the ability to lift children.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or comparable credential
- 45 hours DCF hours must be completed including the corresponding exams
Desired Qualifications
- Intermediate computer skills, internet and e-mail
- Ability to lift children and objects up to 40 lbs
- Able to stand and sit for extended periods
