Job Summary
Early Head Start Home Visitor provides in-home coaching and modeling to infants, toddlers, and pregnant women, conducting weekly home visits and bi-monthly socializations to promote healthy child growth and development. Collaborates with preschool leadership to integrate health, nutrition, family services, mental health, and education activities using the Head Start framework; plans visits using the home-based curriculum, supports enrollment and assessments, maintains records, and coordinates with families and community resources. Requires Spanish fluency, a valid Colorado driver’s license, ability to travel within Lake County, and completion of required certifications within specified timelines.
Required Qualifications
- Home-Based Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or comparable certification required, or an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Family Services, Human Services, or a related field; ability to obtain a Home-Based CDA within six months of hire if not already credentialed
- Spanish language fluency required
- Travel may be required (in-state or out-of-state) for training and visits
- Pass background check (Colorado Bureau of Investigation) prior to employment
- Valid Colorado Driver’s License and proof of insurance
- CPR and First Aid certifications must be obtained within 30 days of hire
- Complete 15 clock hours of District-provided professional development annually
- 2 years of experience in family services, child development, or early childhood education preferred
