Job Summary
Assist teaching staff with curriculum implementation and daily activities while applying developmentally appropriate practices to support individual children. Maintain a safe classroom environment, track child progress, and collaborate with parents to build home-school connections. Implement Individual Family Service Plans (IFSPs) or Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and cooperate with community partners to meet program needs. Ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and applicable laws by participating in required meetings, events, and training. Complete a minimum of 15 clock hours of professional development annually. This part-time role involves occasional local travel and requires a valid Kentucky driver's license, reliable transportation, and a satisfactory background check.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/General Education Degree
- Valid Kentucky driver's license
- Reliable transportation
- Satisfactory background checks
- Pass a pre-employment drug test
- Random drug testing as required
- State required minimum vehicle liability insurance
- Uninsured motorist insurance
- Any/all other testing or applicable checks required by local, state, or federal law
- Ensure that a minimum of 15 clock hours of allowable professional development is completed annually
- Complies with the Head Start Performance Standards and all applicable local, state, and federal laws
- Participates in assigned meetings, events, and training as required
- Occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell
- Occasionally lift or move up to 75 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
- Travel is primarily local during the business day, although out-of-area travel may be expected upon notice
