Job Summary
Supervise and engage with toddlers, maintain classroom cleanliness, and assist with lesson planning while following a consistent routine. Use meal and outdoor time as learning opportunities, protect students and materials, and model positive interactions with children and diverse families. Support family involvement in the classroom and participate in weekly team meetings, monthly staff meetings, and required trainings. This part-year position includes a 9-week summer break starting June 15, 2026, with a 35-hour weekly schedule. Join a non-profit Head Start program emphasizing parents as primary teachers and child-led play to provide school readiness skills.
Required Qualifications
- At time of hire must be enrolled in the Oregon Child Care Division Central Background Registry (CBR) and maintain active enrollment during employment.
- Obtain within 30 days of employment: Adult and Pediatric CPR & First Aid Certification and Food Handlers Card (paid by the organization).
- Successful completion of pre-employment physical exam and TB test prior to start date.
- Basic Proficiency of Microsoft Office.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with children between the ages of 0 and 3 in a formal early childhood setting.
