Job Summary
Supervise and engage with toddlers, maintain classroom cleanliness, and assist with lesson planning while following a consistent routine. Use meal and outdoor time as learning opportunities, model positive interactions, and implement Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support strategies under the Head Teacher's direction. Support family involvement in the classroom and participate in weekly team meetings and required trainings. This part-year position requires 40 hours per week from Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm, with an unpaid 9-week summer break. Candidates must obtain CPR, First Aid, and Food Handlers certification within 30 days of hire.
Required Qualifications
- At time of hire must be enrolled in the Oregon Child Care Division Central Background Registry (CBR) and maintain active enrollment during employment.
- Obtain within 30 days of employment: Adult and Pediatric CPR & First Aid Certification and Food Handlers Card (paid by the organization).
- Successful completion of pre-employment physical exam and TB test prior to start date.
- Basic Proficiency of Microsoft Office.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with children between the ages of 0 and 3 in a formal early childhood setting.
