Job Summary
Support individual students or small groups to reinforce lessons and guide independent study, enrichment, and remedial activities. Assist with grading, prep materials, and organize classroom tools while helping lead group activities and school-wide events. Prepare supplies and instructional resources for daily learning, and supervise students during lunch, recess, field trips, and special events. Participate in professional development to sharpen skills and pitch in wherever needed to keep the classroom running smoothly. Work closely with a classroom teacher and under the guidance of the principal to help students ages 3–12 grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
Required Qualifications
- A flexible, upbeat, collaborative spirit
- Clear and confident communication in English
- Basic computer skills or a willingness to learn
- A commitment to quality, care, and student success
- Comfort working with students from diverse backgrounds
- Experience working with young children (ages 3–12)
- 60+ college credit hours
- Associate's degree or higher
- Passing score on the Missouri ParaPro or Paraprofessional Assessment
- Completion of Missouri's online Substitute Training Program
- Valid Missouri Substitute Teaching Certificate
- Approval by the Board of Education
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with educational settings or tutoring (preferred)
