Job Summary
Montessori Early Childhood teacher for multi-age (pre-school and Kindergarten) at South Bend, Indiana. RESPONSIBILITIES include implementing Montessori and SBCSC curriculum, instructing large and small groups and individuals, collaborating with coaches, differentiating instruction, integrating Montessori philosophy across curriculum, employing various instructional techniques, supporting balanced literacy, inquiry-based learning, and flexible grouping, and communicating with parents to promote Montessori practices at home. The role requires active participation in staff and curriculum development, reflection of Montessori practices in instruction, and adapting strategies to meet needs of a diverse urban student population. QUALIFICATIONS include a current Indiana Teaching License with Elementary Education, Kindergarten and preschool certification (or pending), and Montessori Early Childhood credentials from MACTE/AMS/AMI or ongoing training; familiarity with AMI/MACTE credentials is preferred. HOLIDAY/SCHOOL YEAR STRUCTURE: based in South Bend, IN; Full-time teaching role.
Required Qualifications
- Must be certified in Elementary Education with Kindergarten and preschool certified or pending certification, hold a current Indiana Teaching License and be Highly Qualified.
- Specialized Training / Other Consideration: Currently participating in a Montessori EARLY CHILDHOOD teacher training program and/or currently holding a Montessori EARLY CHILDHOOD credential from a MACTE and/or AMS, AMI teacher training center.
