Job Summary
Lead classroom oversight and implement daily emergent, project-based curriculum aligned with developmentally appropriate practices. Collaborate with teaching teams to design learning experiences that support social-emotional growth and include children with diverse developmental needs. Conduct observations, document anecdotal notes, and coordinate assessments to inform intentional planning and reporting. Mentor university preservice teachers by guiding theory-to-practice connections and supervising student employees during indoor and outdoor activities. Establish individual and group goals with families, conduct biannual conferences, and maintain meaningful partnerships with university faculty, researchers, and the community. Ensure full regulatory compliance for state certification and national accreditation while supporting faculty-led research initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Two years of early childhood education experience
- Pediatric CPR, Pediatric First Aid Certification, or the ability to be certified within 60 days of employment
- Child Development Associate (CDA)
- Knowledge of child growth and development, learning theories, effective learning environments, and appropriate teaching strategies
- Ability to develop knowledge to assess the effectiveness of instructional strategies and learning environments
- Ability to give, receive, and reflect on constructive feedback
- Ability to work cooperatively with others in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to assist in mentoring and supervising early childhood preservice teachers and student employees
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Team building, collaboration, and leadership skills
- Ability to present information clearly and concisely
