Job Summary
Create hands-on activities to meet the needs and interests of infants, toddlers, and preschoolers while maintaining open communication with parents about daily milestones. Ensure a safe and clean classroom by following essential procedures and guidelines, providing supervision, care, curriculum delivery, and services per Bright Horizons' policies. Offer support in any classroom or age group where teaching coverage is needed across a center or in nearby locations. This full-time role at UVA Centers (Copeley, Rivanna, Malcolm Cole, and Sharon L. Hostler) supports children's social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth within an inclusive workplace.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age
- high school diploma or GED
- CDA, Associate, or bachelor's degree in early education or related field
- Demonstrated knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice (DAP) for children
- pass required state and company background checks
- meet state and company minimum education and experience requirements
- comply with all applicable federal, state, local, Bright Horizons', and client site requirements concerning immunizations, employment physical/screening, and health and safety training
Desired Qualifications
- 1 year of professional experience teaching in child care, daycare, or preschool settings
