Job Summary
Early Childhood Teacher delivers Creative Curriculum with fidelity, plans developmentally appropriate, play-based learning experiences across all developmental domains, and shares responsibility for TSG GOLD assessment documentation with the Early Childhood Specialist. The role engages families through daily communication, family conferences, and portfolio sharing; implements Individualized Care Plans for children with identified support needs; maintains a warm, home-like classroom environment aligned with the environment-as-third-teacher philosophy; tracks meal and CACFP participation; provides daily direction to Classroom Assistants; participates in professional development and team meetings; and maintains a safe, organized classroom. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent (CDA credential required or obtainable within the first year), CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days), and at least 1 year of experience with young children. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- CDA credential required or must be obtained within first year of employment
- CPR/First Aid certification required or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
- Minimum 1 year of experience with young children in a group care setting
- Knowledge of NAEYC Program Standards preferred
- Knowledge of Teaching Strategies GOLD and Creative Curriculum
- Satisfactory background check per SD DSS requirements
