Job Summary
Supervise the classroom and all activities while exhibiting safe, healthy, developmentally appropriate childcare practices. Provide daily care for children including diapering, toileting, feeding, and supporting social/emotional needs. Encourage, engage, and support children in instructional times, meal times, transitions, and gross motor activities. Implement positive behavior management techniques and assist in planning, implementing, and actively participating in daily age-appropriate classroom activities. Observe children and document their progress and development. Ensure all children are provided an opportunity to learn in a diverse community setting.
Required Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to serve a diverse community
- Must have CDA or TECE I & II ( Must be willing and actively working toward completion of the CDA pathway)
- At least a high school degree or its equivalent
- Successful completion of 'Training for Early Care and Education 1'
- Six (6) months of experience working with children birth through second grade in a group setting
- At least a high school degree
- Successful completion of the traditional high school's career pathway program in early childhood as recognized by the Department of Education
- At least a high school degree or its equivalent
- Successful completion of six (6) college/university credits - three (3) in early childhood education and three (3) in child development

- Prior experience working or volunteering with youth in a group setting
- Develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds
- Flexible and willing to accommodate the needs of the early childhood community and staff team
- Ability to develop and present educational programs and/or workshops
- Ability to persuade and influence others
- Knowledge of early childhood education programs and techniques
- Knowledge of child development theory and practice
- Have an awareness of the unique needs of young children and have appropriate expectations of their abilities
