Job Summary
Prepare classroom materials and plan quality experiences for children ages 12 months to 5 years. Interact with students to build positive relationships using positive language to guide play and routines. Supervise and play with children in learning centers, classrooms, and playgrounds while attending to physical needs like diapering and comforting. Assist in keeping the classroom neat and organized by following lead teacher instructions for end-of-day cleaning. Serve as a role model for students and maintain respectful interactions. Complete online certification within 10 days of hire through the Arkansas Professional Development Registry and attend a one-time substitute orientation. Work with high responsiveness due to the short-notice nature of this position.
Required Qualifications
- Attend a one-time substitute orientation
- Complete online certification within 10 days of hire through the Arkansas Professional Development Registry
- Must be 18 years old
- High school degree
- One year of experience working with children and/or a certificate in early childhood education or currently working towards completion of one
- Must be able to lift or move up to 40 pounds at times
- Must be able to traverse the classroom and adjust one's tone and height by bending, leaning, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling in order to teach each child
- Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception
Desired Qualifications
- High school degree, college experience preferred
- CPR certification preferred
