Job Summary
Plan curriculum, assessment, and professional development for Early Childhood instructors and paraprofessionals while supporting staff with the CDA credentialing process. Organize substitute instructor and paraprofessional schedules, manage classroom materials, and conduct bi-weekly staff professional development with coaches. Act as a liaison for students with IEPs, monitor individual student progress using data, and participate in IEP team meetings to provide general education input. Model effective early childhood teaching strategies, assist with implementing developmentally appropriate practices, and create developmentally appropriate classroom environments through mentoring. Process detailed information, meet deadlines, and collaborate with the Early Childhood Supervisor and Coordinator to assess quality and improvements for the thrice-yearly developmental assessment.
Required Qualifications
- Fingerprinted and successfully pass a criminal background check
- Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or related field
- Five years' teaching experience in early childhood education pre-k through grade 2
- Three years' experience providing instructional coaching, academic coaching, and/or mentoring support to educators
- Three years' experience planning curriculum, assessment, and professional development for Early Childhood instructors and paraprofessionals
- Valid Drivers License and evidence of insurability
- Reliable transportation to travel to various school sites
- Speak, read, write, and present professionally, analyze, and interpret English written and verbal communications
Desired Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of Utah Early Childhood Core Standards
- Experience in Title I schools
- CLASS Observer certification
- Experience with IEPs and Special Education programs and supports
- Experience training instructors to use and interpret T.S. Gold and PEEP assessment data
- Spanish or other language proficiency, including ability to read, write, speak, and understand
- Have an ESL endorsement or will obtain one within 4 years of hire
