Job Summary
Early Childhood Special Education Teachers manage a caseload of students with identified educational disabilities, developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and adapting curriculum to meet students' needs. Responsibilities include instructing students using diverse teaching methods, overseeing the IEP process for compliance, assessing student progress, and creating a positive learning environment. Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field, a valid Colorado teaching license, and bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English for specific positions.
Required Qualifications
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field required
- Have a valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) teaching license
- ELA-S Only: Must be Bilingual in Spanish and English Required
Desired Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Deaf Education preferred
- Experience working with young students with exceptional needs and their parents preferred
- Experience developing and implementing IEPs and BIPs
- Experience co-teaching in core academic subjects and thrives in a collaborative team approach preferred
- Experience working or teaching a diverse student population
