Job Summary
Assist with physical and instructional needs of students with disabilities inside and outside classroom; implement IEPs under supervision of a certified teacher; support self-help, behavior management, and instructional programs; help transfer students, lift and position as needed, assist with feeding, bathroom needs, hygiene, and other personal care; manage behavior and crisis intervention as required; work with students in small groups to develop motor skills and conduct instructional exercises; provide coverage across lunchroom, bus, and playground duties; maintain confidentiality and participate in professional development; follow district safety procedures and emergency protocols.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Texas educational aide certificate
- Associate’s degree or two years of study at an institution of higher learning*
- Two years experience working with children
