Job Summary
Prepares and meets students for instruction while designing coherent lessons aligned with Virginia Standards of Learning and curriculum goals. Plans instruction to achieve desired objectives, creates instructional materials, and leverages technology to promote critical thinking. Administers formal state and county assessments, documents student learning gains, and provides prompt evaluative feedback. Implements classroom management policies to ensure safe supervision and maximize academic learning time. Participates in continuous professional development, maintains licensure, and works under the support of a seasoned mentor teacher. Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university
- 60 course credits and currently enrolled in a teaching program
- One (1) year of experience working with children
- Actively enrolled in the coursework required to obtain appropriate license(s) and/or endorsement(s) as required by the Commonwealth of Virginia and School Board
Desired Qualifications
- Prior work experience within a public school system
- Ideally Spotsylvania County Public Schools
