Job Summary
The ECSE Teacher will provide specialized instruction and support to birth through age 5 children with disabilities, with assignments in Birth–3 (IFSP-based) or Ages 3–5 (IEP-based), or a split across both. Responsibilities include developing and implementing IFSPs/IEPs in collaboration with families and interdisciplinary teams, delivering instruction across home, community, center-based, or co-teaching settings, targeting developmental domains (communication, cognition, social-emotional, adaptive, motor), applying UDL and play-based methods, collecting progress data, conducting assessments, participating in eligibility determinations and IEP/IFSP meetings, implementing PBSPs/BIPs, and facilitating transitions from Birth–3 to Part B and preschool to kindergarten. The role requires partnering with families, interpreters, paraprofessionals, related service providers, ECFE staff, and community partners; maintaining confidential records; and engaging in ongoing professional development focused on equity, cultural responsiveness, and trauma-informed care. Education and licensure must align with MN ECSE requirements; Master’s preferred but not required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Special Education, Special Education, or a related field (required)
- Valid Minnesota teaching license issued by PELSB with an ECSE endorsement (required)
- Licensure covering Birth–7 or Birth–5 (required); program assignment will align with licensure held
- Experience developing and implementing IFSPs and/or IEPs in compliance with IDEA Part C/Part B and Minnesota Rule 3525
- Experience providing services to young children with disabilities in Birth–3 and/or Ages 3–5 settings
- Strong knowledge of IDEA Part C/B, Minnesota Rule 3525, and related regulations
- Ability to collaborate with families, general education staff, and related service providers
- Familiarity with play-based instruction, AAC, behavior intervention planning, and family-centered practice
- CPI or de-escalation certification preferred; district training provided (not required)
