Job Summary
Provide professional development and technical assistance for child care providers on infant and toddler-aged children; participate in WV ITSN initiatives; travel to visitation sites and work in multiple environments; supports collaboration, documentation, and timely reporting; maintain credentials and complete ITERS-R and PITC certifications; adhere to ethics and professional standards; require travel and flexible scheduling, with potential remote work up to two days per week after a 90-day review.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood, developmental psychology or child development
- One year of professional, paid, and documented work experience with infants and toddlers under the age of 36 months
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Able to travel extensively; flexible scheduling including evenings and weekends
- Background check process including criminal background check, education verification, references, drug testing, motor vehicle records, sex offender registry, CPS check, federal grants debarred list
- Adhere to National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Code of Ethics
- Maintain STARS career pathway enrollment and STARS trainer credential
- Complete initial online training for Infant/Toddler Environment Rating Scale-revised (ITERS-R) within first six months of employment
- Become fully certified in the Program for Infant/Toddler (PITC) with timeline for completion per policy and procedures prior to WVIT Relationship-Based Care (WVIT II)
- Complete process for West Virginia Infant/Toddler Mental Health Credential within one year of PITC certification
- Environmental conditions and physical demands including ability to lift 25 pounds
