Early Childhood School Social Worker

Job Summary
Support general and special education early childhood developmental needs by assisting students on and off caseload. Provide special education evaluations and service delivery within the building and community settings. Deliver professional development on behavior and regulation strategies to teachers and administrators. Support the RtI and MTSS framework development and take an active role in the child study process by addressing social-emotional and regulation needs. Plan for individual students and small groups on targeted skills while referring students to outside agencies. Maintain regular and consistent attendance.
Required Qualifications
- School Social Worker certification required or meet requirements for full or temporary approval from MDE
- Must have strong understanding of special education eligibility requirements and evaluation procedures
- Must have strong behavioral background with an emphasis on creating and implementing behavior plans and functional behavior assessments
- Regular and consistent attendance
Desired Qualifications
- Early childhood experience and developmental knowledge strongly preferred
- Strong data analysis experience preferred
