Job Summary
The Preschool Director is responsible for managing the preschool and junior kindergarten program, including teaching, staffing, and program development. Oversees curriculum development, enrollment growth, health and safety compliance, and adherence to CDHS licensing and Archdiocese guidelines. Requires leadership in hiring and supervising staff, collaborating with the principal, maintaining accurate records, and communicating with parents. Candidates should be a fully initiated Catholic, committed to Catholic faith instruction, and capable of delivering developmentally appropriate activities and prayers within a Catholic educational setting. Must meet CDHS Preschool Director requirements for Early Childhood and complete Safe Environment Training.
Required Qualifications
- Must meet CDHS Preschool Director requirements for Early Childhood
- Teaching experience preferred
- Experience working with preschool-aged children is preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for early childhood learning
- Complete Archdiocese of Denver Safe Environment Training (can complete after hired)
- Be a fully initiated Catholic in the communion of the Catholic Church and intentionally living out the five precepts of the Church (CCC 2041-2043)
- Maintain compliance with Archdiocese of Denver Office of Catholic Schools and Colorado Department of Early Childhood licensing requirements
- Hire, train, and supervise preschool teachers, classroom aides, and volunteers
- Plan and direct activities to increase enrollment
- Develop, evaluate, and revise preschool curriculum according to archdiocesan guidelines
- Oversee daily preschool operations and maintain required records
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and concerns
