Job Summary
Plan and provide developmental activities addressing physical, cognitive, communication, social/emotional, and adaptive needs for identified preschool students. Develop individualized plans to meet specific child requirements and assist with student evaluation and identification. Manage behavior developmentally while maintaining communication with parents regarding progress and participating in parent training. Conduct home visits to strengthen home/school connections and provide leadership to teacher assistants and therapists. Maintain comprehensive records including referrals, evaluations, progress notes, and IEPs. Participate in required screenings, in-service training, and PreK-to-school transitions. Develop and maintain the daily schedule while acting as a consultant to related professionals. Perform other duties as assigned within program guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- B-K certification
- Early Childhood 4 year degree working toward B-K certification
- Must be able to communicate orally and in writing with parents, staff, and community leaders
- Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of fingering, grasping, kneeling, sitting, walking, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, talking, seeing, hearing, and repetitive motion
- Strong interpersonal relationships with students, staff and parents
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral forms
- Ability to develop and compile a variety of records and reports
