Job Summary
Lead Teacher in an Early Learning Center responsible for program compliance, planning and leading hands-on activities aligned with the Healthy Kids Curriculum (including fitness, STEAM, academics, arts, and homework support), overseeing daily operations (attendance, registration, staffing), and maintaining clear family communication via the Playground App. May also provide leadership, guidance, and training to staff, interns, substitutes, and volunteers, support transitions between toddler-preschool-kindergarten, maintain classroom records, and ensure high-quality care and staff morale.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with at least 12 credits in early childhood education or related field plus one year of full-time teaching and one year of staff supervision in an early childhood setting
- Associate’s degree in early childhood education or related field with plan toward Bachelor’s degree or NYS Children’s Program Administrator Credential plus two years of full-time teaching and two years of staff supervision
- New York State Children’s Program Administrator Credential with one year of full-time teaching experience and one year of staff supervision
- Child Development Associate (CDA) or other credential with plan toward Bachelor’s degree or NYS Credential plus two years of full-time teaching experience and two years of supervision
- Medically cleared to perform all job duties
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to lead and motivate a team
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to providing quality childcare
- Proficiency with record-keeping such as attendance and meal logs
