Job Summary
Support the lead teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and classroom routines for children ages 3 to 5, including those with diverse abilities. Provide small group and individualized instruction across developmental domains (early literacy, numeracy, motor skills, social-emotional growth); maintain a clean, organized, engaging classroom; incorporate play-based, sensory-rich, hands-on learning; apply positive behavior support strategies. Provide active supervision and developmentally appropriate guidance; assist with toileting, dressing, feeding support, and other physical needs. Help with health, nutrition, and safety tasks including snack preparation, hygiene routines, and emergency drills. Collaborate professionally with families and the teaching team to meet individual child goals (including IEP or intervention plans); participate in staff meetings and professional development. 0.75 FTE, 24 hours/week, Monday-Thursday 10:00 am - 1:00 pm; starting at $18.42/hour plus $1,000 sign-on bonus.
Required Qualifications
- Two or more years post high school education; CDA preferred credentials
- CPR certification
- First Aid training
- Experience in educational setting or childcare
- Ability to supervise and assist with children ages 3-5
- Familiarity with behavior management and developmentally appropriate guidance
- Ability to follow classroom routines and participate in classroom/playground activities
- Post-offer criminal background check required
