Job Summary
Supervise children in the extended care program at all times, fostering a loving, secure, and supportive mood while creating reverence through inner and outer gestures. Manage program needs including supplies and budget, lead gratitude verses for snacks and meals, and provide healthy afternoon snacks. Set out lunches and encourage gratitude, then create a supportive environment for homework or rest depending on the group. Maintain a clean, tidy classroom for the next morning and ensure smooth transitions between afternoon and late care shifts. Coordinate with parents for pick-up procedures and limit cell phone usage to emergencies. Communicate observations to fellow teachers and the Executive Director, commit to continuing education in Waldorf pedagogy, and participate in peer reviews and mentoring as outlined in the employment contract.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working with children in Early Childhood
- Good communication skills
- Ability to support parents with concerns
Desired Qualifications
- Preference in hiring for this position will be given to candidates who have completed, started or are willing to start their Waldorf Teacher Training
- Candidates who share and implement diversity, equity, and social justice values in their teaching practices
