Job Summary
Support families to navigate the NDIS access process for children with diagnosed disabilities by conducting developmental assessments and conversations to determine eligibility. Provide guidance where NDIS access is not required, ensuring families still receive appropriate support pathways while promoting a family-centred and strengths-based approach. This fixed-term, full-time role in Deniliquin requires a tertiary qualification in Early Childhood Education or Allied Health, sound knowledge of child development and the National Disability Insurance Scheme, and strong communication skills. Required Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Early Childhood Education, Allied Health, Allied Health Assistant or related qualification in Human Services
- Sound knowledge of typical and atypical child development
- Sound knowledge of conducting and interpreting general childhood development screeners and assessments
- Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Working knowledge of regional mainstream and community supports and services for children
- Demonstrated awareness of the National Disability Insurance Scheme, the Early Childhood approach and commitment to early childhood intervention best practice principals
