Job Summary
Early Childhood Assistant Teacher responsible for supporting planning and implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum for the assigned age group. Assist the Lead Teacher in developing weekly lesson plans, preparing daily activities, and submitting completed lesson plans biweekly. Maintain accurate records of each child’s progress, communicate health concerns and incidents to supervisors and parents, and ensure classroom safety and cleanliness. Administer and score assessments within the first 30 days of enrollment and report deficiencies. Adhere to state childcare licensing guidelines and NECPA accreditation standards, participate in ongoing training, and contribute to KPI and annual plan goals. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent (CDA preferred), at least one year of relevant experience, 40 hours of DCF training, 5 hours of literacy training, and English proficiency. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and to work effectively with diverse families; background screening required.
Required Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required
- Minimum of one year of experience working as an Early Childhood Teacher Assistant
- CDA credential preferred
- Must complete 40 hours of DCF training in early childhood education and 5 hours of literacy training
- Must pass required background pre-employment screening
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Effective communication in English
