Job Summary
As an Early Childhood Assistant Teacher in the Early Head Start program, you will create a warm, engaging classroom for children ages 6 weeks to 3 years, maintaining a 4:1 teacher-to-child ratio in classrooms limited to 8 children. You will provide nurturing, developmentally appropriate care and education, support children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development, and build positive partnerships with families. The role supports delivery of Early Head Start services to qualifying families and offers opportunities for paid professional development and credentialing. Requires an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (Bachelor's Degree preferred); experience with infants and toddlers; CPR/First Aid and MAT certifications; willingness to obtain Infant/Toddler CDA credential; knowledge of Head Start standards and Virginia licensing; bilingual skills are a plus. Salary is $30,000 annually with generous benefits and paid time off.
